SR Collect Mobile
Field app for registering schools with GPS and browsing the LEPA school registry — the data collection tool for workers on the ground.
Overview
SR Collect is the mobile data-collection client for the LEPA school registry. Field workers stand at a school entrance, capture the device GPS, submit school details to the backend, and browse the latest registered schools. It is built with Expo (SDK 56) and React Native, and talks to the LEPA School Registry API. Success and error states are written as clear, actionable copy. The home screen reports whether the API is reachable.
Problem
A national school registry is only as good as the records collected in the field. Paper or desktop-only intake misses GPS accuracy and is hard to use on site.
What I built
A focused Expo app for field workers: register with device GPS at the entrance, pull the latest registry from the API, open coordinates in maps, and surface API health plus translated success/error feedback so the tool is usable without a support call.
My contribution
- Register school — capture device GPS at the entrance and submit details to the LEPA School Registry API.
- Browse schools — pull the latest registered schools from the API.
- School details — classification, location, and open-in-maps for coordinates.
- Themed, actionable success and error copy for end users.
- Home-screen API health so workers know if the backend is reachable.
